Duration: Approximately 5 hours

You'll delight in this excursion to worldly Monaco, a staunchly independent little country on the Riviera, perhaps best known for its opulent casinos. You'll visit Monaco-Ville, high atop the Rock, a 220-foot-high promontory that is the site of the royal palace and the government building. Take elevators and escalators to the top for a walking tour along the steep, narrow streets, and visit the cathedral that houses the tomb of Princess Grace. Before returning to the ship, enjoy some free time shopping or relaxing in a café.

Shore Excursion Grasse & St. Paul de Vence
Duration: Approximately 5 hours

Begin this tour with a scenic ride to Grasse, certainly the most fragrant town on the Riviera. Surrounded by fields of jasmine and roses, it is the capital of the French perfume industry. Back on board your motorcoach, you'll pass through a river canyon to the 16th-century town of St. Paul de Vence. With its assemblage of stone houses and narrow walkways and its location amid colorful terraced vineyards, bougainvillea and mimosa blossoms, it is considered by many to be the Cote d'Azur's most picturesque village. You'll take a walking tour through this historic medieval walled town, exploring the wonderful shops, art galleries and boutiques. Afterwards, you'll have time to shop on your own and relax in a café. Or visit the Maeght Foundation, a modern art museum in an avant garde building, featuring works by Chagall, Braque, Miro, Kandinski, Leger and Matisse, along with many other examples of 20th-century paintings and sculptures.
