The most economic way to see Rome - The Eternal City on your own - Transport only.
For travelers who prefer to explore Rome on their own, we can provide a Deluxe Coach transfer from the Port of Civitavecchia
to the Eternal City. On Arrival in Rome, you will be dropped off at the city center (Lungotevere Zanardelli).
Where you will be able to spend the day at your leisure.
The transfer time between Civitavecchia and Rome is about 1 hour and 30 minutes.
Be sure to re-board your Coach no later than 15 minutes prior to the scheduled departure time from same point you left it.

Note:
All activities, including dining, will be at your discretion. Most major shops are closed daily from 1:00 to 4:00pm.
Please keep in mind the strict dress code for visitors to St. Peter's Basilica; shorts, short dresses and tank tops are not acceptable. Comfortable walking shoes are recommended.

Our Guide will meet your group at the Port of Civitavecchia. Board our  Deluxe Coach and transfer to Rome. The transfer takes about 1 Hour and 30 minutes the Guide will start explaining the history of  Rome.
You will start a panoramic Tour of Rome and will be able to see the most important sites of the City. The itinerary could be changed due to unforeseen circumstances beyond our control ,however you will be able to see (not in chronological order due to traffic reasons): Basilica of Saint John  Lateran, one of the four Major Basilicas of Rome and the first site of the papacy; Caracalla Thermal Baths, the best preserved baths of old Rome; Circus Maximus, the largest circus in the world for  chariot races; The Palatine hill,  where Rome was founded and where the imperial palaces were built with a surface of 80.000 sqm.; The Theatre of Marcellus, the best preserved theatre of ancient Rome;  Venice Square, Rome topographical-Centre with The Vittoriano Monument dedicated to the King Vittorio  Emanuele II; Roman Forum,  the political, military and social centre of the Roman Empire;  Arch of Constantine, a magnificent triumphal arch dedicated to the Emperor Constantine after his victory over his rival Maxentius;
Colosseum (photo stop 30 minutes), the world’s largest Roman amphitheatre for Gladiatorial Duels before departure of the Coach at 12:30 for transfer back to the Port of Civitavecchia (14:00)

Duration: Approx 9 ½ Hours

Our Guide will meet your group at the Port of Civitavecchia. Board our Deluxe Coach and transfer to Rome. The transfer takes about 1 Hour and 30 minutes the Guide will start explaining the history of Rome.
(10:00 to 12:30)
Visit Vatican Museums. Representing the largest art collection in Europe with over 65.000 masterpieces. The tour will start with the visit of the Pio Clementino Museums that houses very famous statues like the Belvedere Apollo, the Laocoon and the Belvedere Torso, by Michelangelo who was inspired by classical sculptures in his paintings of the Sistine Chapel .Then the tour will continue to the Candelabra Gallery with statues and mosaics, the Tapestries Gallery with artefacts dating back to the XVI and XVII century , the Historical Maps, work of Ignazio Danti , The Sistine Chapel built in XV century by Pope Sixtus IV and adorned by Michelangelo, Botticelli, Perugino and Ghirlandaio.
The tour will go on with the visit of
St.Peter's Basilica, the largest Church in the world, that houses the Pietà, Michelangelo’s masterpiece
carved when he was only 24 years old, the statue of Saint Peter, the papal altar, the Baldacchino, Saint Peter’s Chair, the dome planned by Michelangelo, many funeral monuments of popes. The tour will end  with  the visit of St. Peter’s Square with the colonnade and the Egyptian Obelisk.
At
12:30 transfer to the City center (Coach Park Lungotevere Zanardelli) and time free to visit Rome on your own.
A walking Tour on your own in the pedestrian area in the center of Rome will give you the possibility to see the most famous places:
(Piazza Navona, Spanish Steps,etc.) before rejoining the motorcoach for the return to Civitavecchia in time for the ship departure.
At
16:30 Coach departs from the Coach Park of Lungotevere Zanardelli back to the Port of Civitavecchia

The transfer takes about 1 Hour and 30 minutes  the Guide will start explaining the history of Rome .
You will start a panoramic Tour of Rome
(10:00-11:30) and will be able to see the most important sites of the City. The itinerary could be changed due to unforeseen circumstances beyond our control however you will be able to see: Aurelian walls, Pyramid, Caracalla Thermals Baths, the Colosseum (photo stop 30 min.), Circus Maximus, Teatro di Marcello, the Capitol, Piazza Venezia, Quirinale, Via Nazionale, Traforo.
(11:30 to 13:00). Visit continues on foot,  walking to  theTrevi Fountain, Piazza Colonna, the Pantheon, Piazza Navona (40 min. Free time for light lunch and shopping) meet at  Lungotevere Zanardelli  at 13:40 continue  to the Vatican City.

13:30 to 15:00: City sightseeing tours from the Vatican Coach terminal to the Janiculum Tunnel, through: Castel Sant'Angelo, Piazza Venezia, the Capitol, the Teatro Marcello, Mouth of Truth, Circus Maximus, the Colosseum (photo stop 30 min.), Quirinale, Via Nazionale, Traforo.
15:00 to 16:30: We continue on foot to see theTrevi Fountain, Piazza Colonna, the Pantheon, St. Louis of the French, Piazza Navona. Our Tour ends at the Lungotevere Zanardelli Coach Park.
At 16:30 Coach departs from Lungotevere Zanardelli Coach Park to the Port of Civitavecchia - arrival at 18:00
